Wisconsin, also known as America's Dairyland, is famous for its great lakes and waterways. Spring and summer visitors enjoy fishing, sailing, canoeing and golf. When autumn leaves show their colors, visitors flock to Wisconsin's 46 state parks and 12 state and national forests. The heavy winter snow brings skiers and snowboarders to the Granite Peak Ski Area near Wausau. Temperatures can get cold, but fortunately, you can end the day by enjoying a hot cup of cocoa at your chosen B&B. A hearty breakfast at a country inn might consist of an omelet made from real Wisconsin cheddar cheese--considered by locals to be the best in the country. Madison is home to the Madison Gay Hockey Association and the University of Wisconsin. The movie Hairspray sparked interest in this hip, liberal city. At the Arboretum, located on university campus, you can explore an interesting variety of terrains, which include prairies, savannas, hardwood forests, evergreen forests, marshes, and ponds. It is also home to a number of Native American burial mounds. Family-friendly attractions are the rage in Wisconsin. If you've ever wanted to pet a giraffe, zebra or kangaroo, a visit to the Timbavati Wildlife Park in Wisconsin Dells will fulfill your dreams. Those with a yen for vicarious thrills should head to Milwaukee and visit the Harley Davidson Museum. You'll find hands-on demonstrations to play with, as well as exhibits of the different types of motorcycle engines and races. If aviation gets you high, visit the EEA Air Adventure Museum in Oshkosh. It contains over 100 planes, making it one of the world's largest aircraft museums. Or try your hand at sailing with lessons out of the quaint town of Bayfield adjacent to the stunning Apostle Islands of Lake Superior. Visit Lake Geneva and take a day cruise on the Lake Geneva Cruise Line. The US Mailboat Cruise is not your every day tourist attraction. Apparently, certain areas of Lake Geneva get their mail delivered by boat. The mail deliverer must jump off the bow of the boat while it is still motion, deliver the mail, pick up any out-going parcels and leap back on to the stern of the boat. Take this cruise and watch the action!
