This pedestrian-friendly town is home to a number of artists and musicians. The mountain itself has a great variety of summer activities, which include mountain biking, hiking and gondola rides. Additionally, you are only 30 minutes from the famous Glacier National Park, which boasts over 700 mountain lakes, 26 glaciers and 1,000 plant species. Bigfork and Kalispell are also within 31 miles of the park. These towns also offer the type of artistic ambiance that is typical of Whitefish. Missoula is home to the University of Montana. In recent years, it has become a hip and trendy place for relocation. It is popular with people who want to maintain a semi-urban lifestyle while having frequent opportunities to participate in outdoor activities.
