It is a 5-star luxury, architecturally designed bed and breakfast lodge on the coast of the Mahurangi Harbour, just 30 minutes drive north of Auckland and close to the vineyards and markets of Matakana. It is at the gateway to the beautiful Bay of Islands.

Architectural style
The architect, Noel Lane, was awarded the 'NZ Institute of Architects New Zealand Award for Architecture - Residential' for the design of Waipiata.
Built in 2004 the lodge is contemporary and modern, with limestone floors, walnut fitting. The glass walls bring the outside in and guests enjoy a unique experience of the rural and coastal landscape around them.
